Food Distribution Program Information
The Food Distribution Program on Indian Reservations (FDPIR) provides USDA foods to low-income householdsliving on Indian reservations, American Indian households residing in approved areas near reservations or in Oklahoma, and Alaska Natives, FDPIR is administered at the Federal level by USDA's Food and Nutrition Service (FNS). It is designed to serve as an alternative to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), formerly known as the Food Stamp Program.
The Service area for the Ponca Tribe FDPIR consists of four full counties and portions of two other counties. The four full counties are: Kay, Noble, Grant and Garfield counties and small northern most portions of Logan and Payne counties. However, there is a population cap on cities where the population is 10,000 and above and we are not allowed to go within the city limits to offer our benefits.
